After helping Katy pick out the best outfits and getting the twin boys dressed, we went out front to get a couple family portraits. Right when I assured them that I got a good one, Dawson and Porter bee-lined it to the nearest puddle. My instinct kicked it to get motherly and stop them. I glanced at Katy as she kind of threw up her hands in defeat. We both nodded at each other, agreeing to allow it to happen. We knew for photos sake, to just let the boys be boys. I appreciated her willingness to show that life doesn't have to be posed and perfect. As for Mela, after hosing them down and a wardrobe change, we got a few photos of her sweet face too.
