Kara + Matt | Wedding

On the first day of school in middle school, I sat next to a red headed girl in homeroom class. We both discovered we had the same tennis shoes. Enough for me to assume we were destined to be friends. I have some of my favorite child hood memories with Kara. We went through that awkward teen phase of life together. Everyone can agree those years aren't easy and I am grateful we could navigate that stage of life together. We used to paint everything in her room. Splatter paint and hand prints of every color. It's no surprise to me how colorful her wedding was. One word I would use to describe her is loyal. She is incredibly dedicated to the people in her life. Always remembering them and sincerely caring about their well being. Matt is one of our friends from high school. When I found out they were dating I was beside myself excited. There is nothing better than when your good friend finds a good man and you know they'll be taken good care of for the rest of their lives.

I remember talking about her wedding when we were young, her dad made a comment about how years will go by and change a lot of things, that we may not be friends at that time. I felt a sense of worry. Wondering where we would be at that time. I made a promise to myself that I would keep in touch. I look back and think it's fascinating, I never thought I'd be photographing it. It's fun to shoot weddings, but it's even better when it's people you have grown up with feeling like apart of the family...

Congrats to my lovely friend Kara & Matt. Thank you for letting me be apart of it all.

I am really proud of this runner. We MADE IT. It took forever and a year, so please appreciate it.

 

The food was unreal. There were stations around the room with all different types: asian, mexican american....Like a dream, but better.
